The TubBuddy (SB2) is a dynamic transfer system that quickly converts your existing bathtub or curbed shower into a safe, accessible bathing solution—eliminating the need for expensive renovations, long timelines, or disruptive construction. Designed to minimize physical strain, the SB2 simplifies bathing and toileting by eliminating multiple transfers and heavy lifting.
The system includes three main components: a rolling base (shower chair), bridge, and tub base. The rolling base functions as a mobile shower chair and can also serve as a bedside or over-toilet commode. It maneuvers easily around the home like a wheelchair, allowing for smooth transitions into the bathroom and over most standard toilets.
When toileting is complete, the rolling base connects to the tub base using the bridge, enabling the user to safely glide over the bathtub edge or shower curb. Once positioned, the bridge and rolling base can be detached, allowing the caregiver more room to assist and the shower curtain to close for privacy. A custom bridge may be necessary in bathrooms where the toilet is positioned unusually close to or far from the tub.
The SB2 includes a secondary safety mechanism that locks the chair in place and prevents accidental movement along the track. Additional features include a front-opening cushion, flip-back, lockable and removable armrests, footrests, 5” locking casters, height adjustability, and a removable commode bucket with lid, along with chest and lap belts for enhanced user safety.
