The ShowerBuddy (SB1) is a versatile transfer system designed to convert your existing curbed shower into a safe, accessible bathing space—without the need for costly renovations. Ideal for users with mobility challenges, the SB1 eliminates the strain of multiple transfers and heavy lifting during toileting and showering routines.
The SB1 system consists of three components: a rolling base (shower chair), bridge, and shower base. The rolling base functions as a bedside or over-toilet commode and rolls smoothly through the home like a wheelchair. It easily transitions over most standard toilets, allowing users to perform toileting tasks before sliding into the shower.
Once positioned, the rolling base connects to the shower base via the bridge, allowing the user to effortlessly glide over the shower curb. After entering the shower, the bridge can be removed, and the chair—secured in the shower base—can rotate 360 degrees for maximum flexibility, allowing the user to face any direction, including toward the shower controls.
For added safety, the SB1 includes a secondary locking mechanism to prevent unintentional movement off the track during transfers.
The chair also features a standard front-opening cushion, footplate, flip-back, lockable, and removable armrests, 5” lockable casters, a removable commode bucket with lid, chest and lap belts, and adjustable height for user comfort and customization.
